Welcome to Guilin, the most scenic city in China. Upon your arrival, be met by your local guide and escorted to your hotel in Guilin downtown.
You’ll start your Guilin tour after a break. The first stop surely is the Elephant Trunk Hill, the city symbol. Then drive about 7 km (about 20 minutes) to the fabulous Reed Flute Cave to see the beautiful stalactites, stalagmites, stone pillars, and stone flowers with various shapes.
After the tour, be transferred to your hotel.
As the declaration in Chinese textbook "Guilin’s landscape is the best under heaven", today you will explore this best landscape starting with a relaxing sightseeing cruise along the Li River from Mopanshan Pier to Yangshuo Town. Along the 84-kilometer cruise, dazzling scenery overwhelms your eyes like a vast endless Chinese painting of winding river, green limestone karst mountains, fascinating countryside views, amazing scene of A Painting of Nine Horses, and notable view printed on the back of the 20 RMB note. (Please note: Lunch is served by the cruise with simple local Chinese cuisine. And you can take some snacks when getting on board.)
After about 4 hours’ cruise, disembark in Yangshuo Town, and check in your hotel. Take a short break, and then throw yourself into the stunning countryside views and relaxed atmosphere. Be enthralled by the patches of paddy fields nestling under green hills and near the mirror-like river, with farmers cultivating the soil with their water buffalos.
After that, walk leisurely on the ancient West Street to witness how the western culture and Chinese culture perfectly and peacefully coexist here. Whether you want to enjoy a cup of drink in bar, taste some local food, or just experience the relaxing atmosphere, you get it here.
Optional evening activity:
Watch the splendid evening performance of Impression Liu Sanjie with the Li River itself as the stage, which was directed by famous director - Zhang Yimou (usually performs for an hour between around 19:45 and 22:20).
Wake up in the peaceful morning and enjoy a wonderful breakfast, then throw yourself into the stunning countryside views and relaxed atmosphere. Be enthralled by the patches of paddy fields nestling under green hills and near the mirror-like river, with farmers cultivating the soil with their water buffalos. There are many things to do for you - climbing the Moon Hill, biking to Big Banyan Tree...
Then you will hike about 12 km along the Yulong River from Gongnong Bridge to Yulong Bridge with some old peaceful villages, several ancient stone bridges and a few antique buildings. The rivers flows slowly among green beautiful karst mountains, which is also the classic hiking route for tourists to explore countryside landscape and culture with enjoyable hiking.
Wake up in the fresh air you may forget where you are. There may be some time, depending on your flight time, to feel the ancient countryside again.
Later, drive to Guilin Airport to catch your flight for your next destination.
Witness one of the most beautiful terraces in China - Longsheng Rice Terraces in Longsheng County.
Longsheng Rice is a range of steep-sided farming rice fields on hills. The owners of these terraces are local ethnic communities who have inhabited here from ancient time, such as Zhuang, Yao. You can’t believe that some locals still hunt for living. Today, the beautifully shaped terraces attract thousands of tourists to visit each year. There are many ancient villages gathering in this region, and Longji, Pingan, Dazhai and Jinkeng are four most beautiful ones, which constitutes the Longji Terraces Scenic Zone. Among these four villages, Longji offer the best scenery of terraces. The route connecting these four villages has become a classic hiking trail today.
