It starts from Beijing where you will go no rush to visit the world famous sites of Great Wall, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace, etc., and finish in Chengdu which has long been reputed as the “leisure city” and "Hometown of Giant Panda" in China. Direct flight will be arranged to save time for you either.
Ni Hao! welcome to Beijing, the iconic city and capital of China! You will be met by our local tour guide at the arrival hall of Beijing Airport and escorted to your downtown hotel by a private comfortable vehicle. The rest of the day is your own to relax. If you want to explore nearby areas, feel free to get some practical suggestions from your tour guide.
Arrival Ideals: At present, there are many international and domestic flights to Beijing. Besides, you can take a high speed train to this capital city from Shanghai (5-6 hrs), Xian (5.5 hrs), Guangzhou (8-9.5 hrs), etc.
After breakfast, you will be picked up at your hotel and start to explore the historical face of Beijing with a brief visit to Tiananmen Square which is now the largest city plaza in the world. Tiananmen Gate on the northern square was the site where the Chairman Mao announced the establishment of the People's Republic of China. Stepping into the Tiananmen, you will see one of the world’s 5 most important palaces - Forbidden City, a huge palace complex of more than 9,000 rooms where 24 emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties used to live in. Pass through various doorways to admire the magnificent and well preserved buildings decorated with yellow glazed tile roof, white marble base and splendid colorful paintings. After Forbidden City exploration, take a short visit to Jingshan Park where you can get a nice shot of one watchtower of Forbidden City and take a panoramic view of Forbidden City.
In the afternoon, drive about 40 minutes to the outskirts of Beijing to spend an enjoyable time in Summer Palace, the largest and best-preserved royal garden in China. Stroll around ancient pavilions, mansions, temples, bridges and corridors. Feast your eyes on the vast lotus in Kunming Lake and the colored paintings in Long Corridor.
Recommended optional activities: 1) watch a delightful Kung Fu show to trace the history of Chinese Kung Fu between 19:15~20:15; 2) enjoy a breathtaking acrobatic show between 19:15~20:15.
This morning, you will drive about 70km (about 1.5 h) to witness one of the Seven Wonders of the World - Great Wall. The less-crowded Mutianyu, a well-preserved segment of Great Wall built in Ming Dynasty, lives up to all of your nice expectation. You’ll take a cable car to ascend the Great Wall, then hike the most beautiful and interesting part of Mutianyu. It's a wonderful experience to climb up its rising towers to enjoy scenic views and take brag-worthy photos of the wall wriggling along mountain ridges. After the exciting time, descend Mutianyu Great Wall by cable car. (Note: If energy permits, you can hike up or down which takes about 40 minutes to climb steps. Please tell your likes to your travel consultant.)
After Great Wall exploration, drive about 65km (1.5 hours) to 798 Art Zone to get an artsy vibe which stands in contrast to the old atmosphere of Beijing’s other historic sights. It is an open air gallery to discover street art, new trends, exhibitions and many cool shops. Lastly, drive back to Beijing City, and take a short stop at the Beijing Olympic Village to view the magnificent Bird’s Nest and Water Cube from the outside.
Lastly, be escorted back to your hotel.
Recommended optional activities: Enjoy an exciting and safe toboggan ride (about 2~3mins) down Mutianyu Great Wall.
After breakfast, drive to the imperial site – Temple of Heaven. It was originally used to pay homage to Heaven and pray for harvest, now becomes a bustling place for locals to take part in traditional activities, such as Tai Chi, dancing, kite flying, water calligraphy, etc. Then get back to the central city to hop on a rickshaw to experience the Beijing Hutongs - small alleys made by neighboring quadrangle dwellings. Shuttle among different Hutongs to get a feel of the old Beijing life style, visit various antique shops and small boutiques, truly feel the historical changes of Beijing, and also pay a visit to a local family’s home in the traditional Hutongs.
Till now, your Beijing tour is about to end. Your tour guide and driver will escort you to cacth your flight to Chengdu. After a 2.5 hours flight journey, you will arrive at Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport. Be picked up by your tour guide, and escorted to your hotel in Chengdu. The rest of today is on your own to explore Chengdu, the city of Hot Pot and tea houses.
In the morning, our guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel in Chengdu and drive about 1.5 hours to Dujiangyan Panda Base, the real panda valley in Kung Fu Panda 3. Located at the foot of Mount Qingcheng, this panda base is with picturesque environment filled with bamboo and grass. Have close contact with many giant pandas and red pandas, see them eating bamboo, climbing trees, sitting on the grass, playing together and sleeping, etc. These pandas are as adorable as Po and his fellows in Panda Valley.
In this afternoon, head to Front Mountain of Mount Qingcheng, well known as a birthplace of Taoism. This UNESCO World Heritage site boasts incredibly lush surroundings and secluded tranquility, as well as well-preserved Taoist temples. Hike about half hour to Yuecheng Lake which lying quietly in the middle of the mountain and then take a 5-minute Bayun cableway up to the mountain. Walk to the mountain top and visit the historical Taoist temples along the way, like Shangqing Temple, Laojun Pavilion, experience culture of Taoism and enjoy fresh air and stunning scenery. After learning some Tao on Mount Qingcheng, you can find inner peace here and feel the power Po uses in Kung Fu.
After the tour, transfer back to your hotel in Chengdu.

This morning you will make a stirring visit to People's Park first. Chengdu is famous for its relaxing and leisure pace throughout China, which will be proved after a stay here. Sit down, order a pot of Chinese tea, make a casual chat with your friends and watching locals indulging themselves in different kinds of folk entertainment – napping in a lively teahouse, playing mahjong, disco dancing, neck massage, ear cleaning… Next is an impressive trip to the famous Jinli Old Street. Time steals away from you quietly while walking on the lively streets which are full of delicious local snacks, delicate artifacts, interesting folk shows, etc.
After the relaxing tour, be transferred to airport / train station for your flight or train to next destination. Tour end!
