China has an old saying that goes, “Trips to China’s five great mountains detracts from necessity to other mountains in China and no mountain is worth seeing after a trip to Mount Huangshan.” If you finished visiting landmark spots in Beijing, incidentally, you can catch a high speed train travel within half a day to explore this wonderful UNESCO World Heritage Site and famous poetic ancient villages in the neighborhood.
According to regular schedules, Beijing runs about 8 high speed trains to Huangshan every day from 07:45 and 15:30. Currently, G262 is the first high speed train that will drive for 6.5 hours and . If you would like a further trip to Wuyuan (婺源), Wuyi Mountain (武夷山) and Xiamen, you can take G355, G323 and G325 trains to move on.

Beijing Huangshan High Speed Rail is linked through three major sections, including the segment of Beijing - Bengbu (蚌埠) on Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway, Hefei-Bengbu High Speed Rail and Hefei-Huangshan on Hefei-Fuzhou High Speed Railway (合福高铁). The route is 1306 kilometers in length and begins from Beijing South Railway Station and arrives at Huangshan North Railway Station via Jinan (Shandong Province), Xuzhou (Jiangsu Province), Bengbu and Hefei in Anhui Province after 5.5 ~6.5 hours’ journey. Also the rail offers longer trip to Wuyi Mountain (Wuyishan) and Xiamen if you are interested in.

Beijing South Railway Station (北京南站)
Location: No.12, Yongwai Avenue, Fengtai District, Beijing (北京市丰台区永外大街12号)
Beijing South Railway Station is the biggest and most important high speed train station of Beijing, which delivers the most high speed trains than other stations. With the opening of Beijing-Tianjin Intercity High Speed Railway, the station was transformed into a highly modern and multi-functional transport hub handling about 400 G trains to Shanghai, Xian, Hangzhou, Huangshan (Yellow Mountain), Harbin, Nanjing, Xiamen, Qingdao and etc. Beijing South Railway Station lies closely to the South 3rd Ring Road, Beijing, about 1 hour’s driving to Beijing Capital International Airport and 30 mins’ driving to Tiananmen Square and Palace Museum. Huangshan North Railway Station (黄山北站)
Location: No.2, North Yingkesong Avenue, Tunxi District, Huangshan City, Anhui Province (安徽省黄山市屯溪区迎客松大道北2号)
Huangshan North Railway Station is an extremely important high speed train station serving for tourism of Mount Huangshan, and ancient villages nearby. Located at confluence of Hefei-Fuzhou High Speed Railway(合福高铁), Hangzhou-Huangshan (Yellow Mountain) High Speed Railway, the station runs about 62 high speed trains (G trains & D trains) to Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, Guangzhou, Xiamen, Hefei, Zhengzhou, Jinan, Xuzhou, Qingdao and other places en routes. From here, you can drive 30 minutes (15km) to Huangshan Railway Station (an old railway station for normal slow trains) and Huangshan Tunxi Airport, and take local tourist bus for 1 hour to Mount Huangshan Scenic Area, 40 minutes (20km) to Huizhou Ancient City, 1 hour to Xidi Ancient Village and Hongcun Ancient Village. You can also take a taxi to go downtown, costing around 30 minutes.
