No.1: Dujiangyan Irrigation System

Built about the year 256 BC, Dujiangyan Irrigation System is still used to irrigate Chengdu plain. This ancient waterworks has helped to make the region a prosperous agricultural land for thousands of years. The whole system, consist of three main parts (Yuzui, Feishayan, and Baopingkou), is used to not only control flooding on the Min River, but also to irrigate an arid region around Chengdu.

No.2: Mount Qingcheng

Located in the southwest of Dujiangyan Irrigation System, Mt. Qingcheng is one of the most famous Taoist mountains in China, where Taoism was originated. The serene paths, quietly flowing streams, pavilions made of tree barks, and the fragrance of burning incenses from temples vividly reflect the culture of Taoism, which people should conform with nature instead.

No.3: Dujiangyan Panda Base

The CCRCGP Dujiangyan Panda Base (also Dujiangyan Panda Ark) is located in Qingchengshan Town of Dujiangyan City, 18 kilometers from Dujiangyan downtown. To its north is the Taoist holy mountain – Mount Qingcheng; to its south is an ancient town in west Sichuan, called Jiezi Ancient Town. Dujiangyan Panda Base is a professional organization specializing in giant panda rescue and disease prevention in China. It is the only panda base right now offering rare chance to do Panda Volunteer Program.

No.4: Dujiangyan Confucius Temple

First built in the Five Dynasties (907-960), Dujiangyan Confucius Temple is the largest county-level Confucius Temple in Sichuan Province. Though it is not in large scale, Dujiangyan Confucius Temple is the ONLY living Confucius Temple with a combination of temple and academy where travelers can experience traditional Six Arts - “Rites”, “Music”, “Archery”, “Charioteering”, “Calligraphy” and “Mathematics”, taking you feel, touch and experience Confucius’ life 2500 years ago.

No.5: Dujiangyan Panda Valley

In fact, there are two places to see giant pandas in Dujiangyan City. One is called Dujiangyan Panda Base where travelers can see more than 30 giant pandas, do panda volunteer work and hug a giant pandas; and the other one is called Dujiangyan Panda Valley, the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding Dujiangyan Field Research Center for Giant Pandas. Right now, travelers can see about 10 giant pandas living in this wild, natural and peaceful environment.

No.6: Jiezi Ancient Town

Jiezi Ancient Town is famed as the hometown of the “One Gourd Ladle Poet” - Tang Qiu in Tang Dynasty. There is a wealth of relic sites scattered around Jiezi Old Town including Guangyan Buddhist Temple, Fengqishan Scenic Spot, Primitive Forest, Millennium gingko tree, ancient stone pagodas, bridges, well-preserved Qing-dynasty street, caves and 32 temples. This 4A scenic spot is called “the Back Garden of Mount Qingcheng”and "Hometown of Orchid". If you have enough time, it is a great choice to cover Jiezi Ancient Town visit after Mount Qingcheng trip.
