Ya’an, a good summer resort to escape the heat, is always rainy and known as “Rain city”. Surprisingly, Bifengxia is even 5-6 Celsius cooler than Ya’an downtown and Shangli Ancient town is 7-8 Celsius cooler than the latter. In Bifengxia, waterfalls and streams are everywhere as well as trees. The air is fresh and the weather is cool.

My first trip to the west of Sichuan came in 2014 and it takes about 2 hours to Wenchuan. On the way, you can see one big statue for the man dealing with the flood in the ancient times. During the 4 days, I visited the Shibaozhai pagoda, Amazing Gorges, Shennong stream and Three Gorges Dam. I took Yangtze cruise with Century Sun in November. Winter is in a low season for traveling, but there're around 200 travelers on the boat we did. However, the best benefit for travellng in a low season is that there aren’t so many people at the tourist spots for shore excursions which make you enjoy the tourist spot as much as possible.
