• Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding (Chengdu Panda Base) - The Base has the largest number of captive pandas in the world (about 120), including many panda cubs. It is only 12km from central city to the base. Observe the live behaviors – eating bamboo, playing, wresting, climbing, rolling… Drawing panda is very recommended for student groups. Volunteering program is not available so far in Chengdu Panda Base;
• Volunteering Work at Dujiangyan Panda Base - learning rescue panda skill in the wild, feeding panda, cleaning panda enclosure, making panda cake, collecting bamboo as a real panda keeper doing. There are half-day program and full day program.

Every World Heritage Site is a unique book about a magnificent historical site or a stunning natural landscape. Here in Sichuan, you have many great books to read. So far, there are 5 World Heritage Sites in Sichuan Province –Sichuan Giant Panda Sanctuaries, Dujiangyan Irrigation System & Qingchengshan Mountain, Leshan Giant Buddha & Mount Emei, Jiuzhaigou National Park, Huanglong National Park. Compared with other 3 sites, Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong are not very recommended for student travel because they are much far away from Chengdu, and mainly about scenery, which seems to be not very “educational”.

If you think drinking tea is not enough, just get out of town to a beautiful tea farm on the mountains of Mengdingshan to experience the exciting whole process of plucking fresh leaves and making. Last, bring the tea you made back home.

• Leshan Giant Buddha - visit the largest stone Buddha in the world constructed in Tang Dynasty; listen to the interesting legendary story about the Buddha;
• Dujiangyan Ancient Irrigation System - with a history of more than two thousand years, Dujiangyan Irrigation System is the only preserved no control irrigation system which is still in use. It is a great chance to marvel at the brilliant wisdom of ancient Chinese engineer.
